About My Clients
My ideal client is willing to take a leap of faith to explore their inner world to create the change they want to see in their lives. They may be facing past or current trauma, addiction, abuse, or gender dysphoria or be struggling with bipolar disorder, depression or anxiety. They have come to recognize that something needs to change and that they need relief for troubling symptoms or situations.
My Background and Approach
I use an Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy approach to help my clients better understand the different parts of themselves and to help heal wounded parts that are stuck in the past. IFS therapy believes that all people have different parts inside them, all with different roles and purposes. IFS helps us to get to know and understand the different parts and to create a greater sense of harmony inside. I have over 15 years of experience working with trauma survivors and am trained in the neurological and emotional impacts of trauma. I help my clients understand their symptoms and how to manage them. Once my clients feel more stable and in control of their symptoms, I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) or Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy to help reduce the level of disturbance they feel related to traumatic memories.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe understanding the impacts of oppression is an essential part of the healing process. While therapy is deeply personal, we cannot understand ourselves without the context of our society and the structures that impact us.
