About My Clients
Have you been considering therapy for awhile but you're a little scared or uncertain about whether it's for you? Or you had a great therapist and now you're worried to be disappointed by a different one? Contact me to see if we would be a good fit. I want to make you comfortable and I don't judge. I treat anxiety, depression, adult ADHD and sexual difficulties in the context of a couple or individually. My goal for you is to build you a meaningful life worth living .
My Background and Approach
I have a PhD in counselling psychology, which focuses on a whole person care, not just on their "symptoms". I've worked with clients from diverse backgrounds presenting with a variety of concerns. I gained my experience in the CBT unit of the Montreal General Hospital (formerly Royal Victoria) in 3 different clinics focusing on depression, anxiety and adult ADHD. I have also worked at the Sex and Couple Therapy Service at the same hospital. Additionally, I was a therapist at the McGill Counselling and Mental Health Services and a symptom evaluator at the First Episode Psychosis at the Jewish General Hospital. I integrate a variety of approaches including Cognitive-Behavioural therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Committment Therapy (ACT) as well as Existential and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) all in the context of a nonjudgmental, honest relationship. I strive to guide my clients to increase their self-acceptance and build a meaningful life with a clear purpose.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everybody has considerable strengths they may not even be aware of and I love to help people discover and use theirs. I also believe that everyone deserves to have a meaningful, satisfying life and a safe place to call home, whether it's their actual home, or the relationships they enter.
