Depression is a mental health disorder that affects mood, including how you feel, think, and behave. Everyone feels sad sometimes, but when it starts to affect your ability to perform daily tasks and your ability to enjoy things that typically bring you happiness, you may be suffering from depression. The symptoms of depression vary from person to person, but often include feeling miserable without a clear reason why, anxiety, agitation, insomnia or sleeping too much, hopelessness, changes in eating, and/or foggy thinking. Depression may also cause recurrent thoughts of death or suicide (or even a wish that it would all 'stop' in an abstract sense). If you think you might be suffering from depression, a qualified mental health therapist can help. Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s depression experts today!

As humans, we are creatures of connection. Meaning that we have an innate need and drive towards connection and relationship. Whether said relationship is with self, others or the world, relationships can be a space for healing and growth. If you have found yourself in a tug-o-war between the natural desire for connection and societal messages of independence and self-sufficiency, I would love to join you as an ally on your life's journey.

You’re the kind of person who has always pushed forward, no matter what. On the outside, you’re accomplished, driven, and maybe even the one others turn to for support. But inside, there’s a weight—one you’ve carried for far too long. Maybe it’s the echoes of childhood trauma, painful relationships, or the deep wounds of sexual trauma. You’ve done your best to move on, but the past still lingers— you’re not broken, healing is possible; I look forward to helping you reclaim your future!

Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

I don't really have a particular population I focus on. I want to work with everybody! That said, I have a great deal of experience with adults with persistent and severe mental illness, adolescents with oppositional and defiant behavior, and clients seeking help from their local psychiatrist. I start every session with "Tell me what's going on with you. What can I do to help?" Then we go from there. I end every session with "Was that helpful?" I haven't heard "No" yet.
