Even though they both fall under the umbrella of consensual non-monogamy, polyamory and open relationships are two very different things. Polyamory means having multiple romantic relationships at the same time, with the knowledge and consent of everyone involved. An open relationship is a relationship where the parties are free to take new partners. Whatever form of non-monogamy you practice or are interested in exploring, you and your partner(s) will have to navigate things like boundaries, safe sex, and jealousy. If you are running into issues or roadblocks, seeing a qualified mental health professional provides a safe and supportive space to discuss your concerns and improve communication skills. Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s polyamorous and open relationships experts today.

Anxiety, depression, and couple conflict can be difficult, but I enjoy collaborating with my clients to help them utilize their strengths to meet challenges. I believe everyone has unique skills that can be enhanced with therapy to cope with conflict, stress, anxiety, and depression. I enjoy helping clients work toward increased hope and empowerment.

I work with adults and couples on all kinds of issues and frequently treat issues related to attachment, identity, and trauma (ie intergenerational trauma, racial trauma, ptsd, etc). I often work with clients who have symptoms of ADHD, anxiety, depression, or high stress. I enjoy working with fellow members of the queer community and have a passion for providing an affirming, inclusive space for historically marginalized groups including, but not limited to BIPOC, interracial couples, and women.

Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.
