The Internal Family Systems Model (IFS), first developed by Richard C. Schwartz, is an integrative approach to individual psychotherapy that combines systems thinking with the view that mind is made up of separate subpersonalities, each with its own viewpoint and qualities. The focus of IFS therapy is to get to know each of these subpersonalities and understand how they work as a whole in order to better achieve healing. IFS can be used to treat individuals, couples, and families and it has been shown to be effective for treating a variety issues, including depression, anxiety, and panic. Think this approach might be right for you? Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s Internal Family Systems specialists today.

Do you feel like the important people in your life don't really know you? On the surface, things may seem to be going well, but deep down you’ve felt anxious and down for a long time. Work, relationships, and responsibilities keep piling up, and you don’t know how to keep going or who to turn to. Each day feels like a battle and you realize that something needs to change. If this sounds like you, I am here to help.
The clients I work best with are adults who are navigating symptoms of anxiety and/or trauma. I'm particularly passionate about working with the C-PTSD population and people erroneously diagnosed with BPD. My ideal client is willing to engage in collaborative and reciprocal conversation. They desire meaningful change, growth, and healing. They are open to both processing the past and preparing for the future, leaning on their strengths and learned tools.
