The term psychosis covers a set of related conditions, of which schizophrenia is the most common. Psychosis symptoms include hallucinations, delusions (strongly believing things that aren’t true), confusion, racing thoughts, disorganized behavior, and catatonia. In order to receive a diagnosis of schizophrenia, a patient must first exhibit signs of psychosis. However, schizophrenia often comes with many other symptoms, beyond psychosis, such as a loss of motivation, withdrawing from your life, feeling emotionless or flat, or struggling to complete the basic daily function of life (like showering). If you think you might be suffering from psychosis or schizophrenia, reach out to one of TherapyDen’s experts today.

You are sitting in therapy watching your therapist tell you for the fourth time that her cousin is gay and just got a “very butch” haircut. He misgenders you, or forgets your partner’s pronouns, she pulls out Food and Mood, and he talks about how apple cider vinegar might be the solution to all your problems. She hasn't lived in a fat body. He hasn’t experienced homophobia or heterosexism. What initially seemed like a small hill to climb in your relationship has started to feel like a mountain

Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

You may feel overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, and alone in dealing with a life crisis or transition. Many of us struggle deeply around completing our families – finding the right partner, having children. You may have delayed having children for your career; you may have unexplained infertility. You & your partner may be dealing with these experiences differently. Maybe you have experienced pregnancy loss or other traumatic events. Maybe you are struggling with being a new parent.
