Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is an evidence-based modality for treating Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). In ERP, clients work with a trained therapist to learn how to gradually expose themselves to thoughts, images and situations that provoke anxiety without engaging in compulsions to soothe the anxiety. This gradual exposure leads to the reduction of anxiety over time, "retraining" your brain to no longer see these things as a threat.

I specialize in working with adults and young adults experiencing anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and co-morbid depression. Also, I have significant experience working with individuals in high stress professional careers and highly technical fields. I'm neurodiversity-affirming and also specialize in (clinical) diagnosis of adults with ADHD and exploring the resulting life impacts, particularly when unrecognized as a young person.

Historically, women have been valued primarily for being a certain size. Body Acceptance is gaining traction more and more, but many women still obsess about changing how they look. My body image groups provide support for women who can't seem to feel okay with themselves. Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

I help young people (ages 6-30) understand their strengths and challenges, discover healthy ways to manage fears and frustration, and accept support. Many lack important skills to manage demands of school, relationships, and life events, leaving them "stuck" in patterns of avoidance and resistance that can be confusing to others. Through our work and collaboration with families and other care providers, my patients often report improved self-esteem, self-awareness, and social interactions.

All clients are welcome. However, I excel in working with individuals, couples and families who experience unique challenges related to neurodivergence like ADHD, ASD, Giftedness, and OCD to name some of the common experiences that present in my practice. Most of my clients are working through cptsd, disordered eating, substance use, gender and sexuality concerns, burnout, and other life challenges that are a part of their neurodivergence.

I work from a whole-person approach which recognizes that many external and internal factors influence mental health and effective treatment must address the relevant factors in each client’s life. None of us exists in isolation, and when working with clients, I address the many external factors that affect mental health, including professional and academic stress, systemic inequalities, social messages and expectations, and romantic, social, and familial relationships.
