A physical disability is a limitation on a person's physical functioning, mobility, dexterity or stamina. There are many different types of physical disabilities. A physical disability may be temporary, long-term, or permanent. Whether you were born with a disability, or have experienced the disability because to injury or illness later in life, being physically disabled can be mentally challenging. A physical disability sometimes leads to social isolation as it may prevent some people from leaving the house, or experiencing things they were previously able to do. It may also cause a loss of independence, especially if the disability requires the care others. This may lead to feelings of helplessness and depression. If you are experiencing a physical disability, particularly if you are struggling with negative emotions, talking with a qualified mental health professional may be an important part of your treatment plan. I love working with passionate people who are ready to take their life up a notch. My ideal clients have an inkling in their heart of where they want to be, but may feel stuck where they are. Maybe they are in a dead end job or relationship right now, and feel like they have to lose weight or stop drinking before they can participate in life again. Maybe they are getting a spiritual upgrade through tremendous loss or despair. Maybe they just need someone to talk to that really cares.
Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

I work with teens, young adults, couples, and caregivers navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. I also have a special focus on supporting those in the medical field, first responders, and teachers. My clients are often seeking a space to explore their emotions, gain clarity, and heal from the weight of life’s struggles. Together, we will work through what is getting in the way of living authentically and creating the life you want to build.

My clients are people who are on a journey to understand themselves and their environments more clearly. I specialize in working with: people who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community, who identify as neurodivergent, who are living with chronic conditions, are experiencing life transitions, and those who experience symptoms from depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders. I also enjoy having conversations with clients about exploring gender identity and deconstructing from systems.
