About My Clients
Some common presenting concerns I have addressed have included adjustment worries or shifts in mood related to traumatic brain injury, amputation, spinal cord injury, IVF/family planning, HIV, and cancer. This can also include couple’s therapy or addressing sex and intimacy concerns.
My Background and Approach
I work predominately from a relational model that utilizes an intersectional feminist lens to situate people’s lived experiences. People can have multiple identities and belief systems that deserve recognition. Leveraging these nuances can empower patients to utilize coping strategies and frameworks that serve to better sustain their wellbeing. Whether it is seeking out specific solutions or making meaning of an event, I strive to work collaboratively alongside patients as they walk towards healing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I recognize the importance of understanding the historical, sociopolitical context to de-pathologizing sexual and gender identity differences. From coming out to navigating trans/gender expansive care, I enjoy walking alongside folks in moving towards living more authentically. I support working from an informed consent model and strongly believe in empowering people to make their own choices when considering what congruence and authenticity looks like for them.
