About My Clients
I specialize in attachment wounds, trauma, relationships, codependency, parenting, people pleasing, emotional dysregulation, addiction, anxiety, depression, and self-doubt. The clients I work with often feel that they are too much, not enough, disconnected, emotionally overwhelmed, and unsure if they can trust themselves. I work with couples who are experiencing disconnect, cyclical arguments, difficulty with intimacy, and overwhelm in parenthood.
My Background and Approach
What I find time and time again is that with a little context, we all make so much sense. As a trauma-informed and attachment-focused therapist, I know our experiences shape our way of thinking and relating and can cause difficulty until we express our pain. Oftentimes, the behaviors causing the most difficulty are simply our best attempts at feeling better. I invite you to consider that what you may feel is “wrong” with you may be a reasonable reaction to trauma, pain, and/or systemic injustice. My passion is to support you in reclaiming these parts of yourself and moving towards a sense of wholeness. I help individuals and couples to slow down, giving us an opportunity to see what happens emotionally, cognitively, and physiologically in difficult moments. Here, we can better understand ourselves and others, clarify the stories you believe, tend to overwhelming emotion and hurt, shift behavior, and cultivate a sense of connection and belonging.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strive to embody radical inclusion, antiracism, and cultural humility. I enjoy working with and affirming clients of all backgrounds, races, abilities, and sexual and gender identities and welcome conversations about our experiences. I view many of the problems people face as a reasonable reaction to the systems they exist in and are impacted by, as opposed to a personal failing to align with societal systems.
