About My Clients
I believe that each person has within them a source for healing that once the body and mind can connect, can be found. Using an integrative approach with multiple theories of psychotherapy, wilderness and grounding, creates a relationship with one’s own body, opening the opportunity for acceptance in the present moment without judgment. Holding a warm, open and kind space to meet ourselves and accept where we are on our path is a goal for my clients and myself.
My Background and Approach
I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor located in Port Townsend, on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State. In 2019 I earned a graduate degree with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA and an undergraduate degree with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Marymount University in Arlington, VA in 2009. I am a Registered Yoga Instructor through the Yoga Alliance since 2013 and have certifications in Trauma-Informed Yoga and Trauma-Sensitive Yin Yoga. I also hold a certification in Mindfulness-Based Ecotherapy and Ecopsychology. My approach is through holistic psychotherapy, in which by speaking with clients, I determine a beneficial plan of treatment utilizing an eclectic mixture of modalities. I may implement aspects of somatic psychotherapy, nature-based techniques and Buddhist psychology. I am out of network for Medicaid/Medicare/State insurance, I offer private-pay as an out-of-network provider with sliding scale options.
