About My Clients
My focus includes, but is not limited to, working with the LGBTQIA2S+ community, anxiety, depression, trauma, gender dysphoria, identity building, women’s issues, life transitions and adjustments, self-esteem, and body image issues.
My Background and Approach
I am a clinical social worker based out of Pierce County. I was born and raised in Washington State and this is the home I long to serve. I received my Masters in Social Work (MSW) from Eastern Washington University. I have experience working in clinical and virtual mental health settings with marginalized groups, individuals and families and support them to improve their quality of life, resources, and awareness. I am dedicated to providing individual counseling services for adolescents and adults both in-person and virtually. I like to be hands-on and weave in play, art, tabletop games, and pop culture into my modalities. We will explore a variety of modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), ACT, and Solution Focused Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
You are the expert of your life. No one knows you better than you. I believe that everyone can change and grow at any time in their lives. I believe in humanity and a willingness to shift stigmas and our awareness as individuals that can in turn make a difference, majorly, in our society. The LGBTQIA2S+ community is near and dear to my heart and I believe it is important to educate others on our differences for awareness and appreciation of how beautiful and flexible we can live. While we may want that "easy button" for life's struggles, we are complex beings that require complex solutions. This is where our partnership and therapy relationship comes into practice. "Not every day is a good day but there is good in every day."
