About My Clients
You are seeking evidence-based, compassionate, and practical mental health treatment. You may struggle with anxiety or OCD or be navigating complex social and familial pressures related to your identity. Or you may be grappling with sexual concerns and looking to improving intimacy. You may be seeking relief from the lingering effects of trauma and ready to move forward. Overall, you are open to learning new skills, understanding your experiences, and making meaningful changes.
My Background and Approach
I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and I have extensive experience with exposure-based therapies for trauma and obsessive compulsive disorder. I also have specific expertise in helping patients cope with sexual trauma, treating sexual problems, working with LGBTQIA+ communities, and supporting adolescents/adults/couples/parents through the gender affirmation process. I take a collaborative, transparent, skills-based, and goal-oriented approach to therapy, tailoring our work to meet your unique needs. My aim is to empower you with effective, evidence-based tools that you can rely on anytime and anywhere. Together, we’ll focus on understanding and addressing the challenges you’re facing right now, whether it's managing anxiety, finding control over intrusive thoughts, or navigating a complex life transition. By building these skills, you'll not only find relief in the present but also develop lasting resilience for the future.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that change and growth are possible at any stage of life. Mental health challenges often arise from unhelpful thinking patterns, behaviors that don’t meet our goals, and models that we learned in childhood that did not meet our current needs. With practice, skill building, and lots of self-compassion, new thinking styles and behaviors can be learned and integrated into our lives. I have complete confidence in the evidence-based approaches that I use. As both a researcher and a clinician, I rely on treatments that have lots of data to support their use. I have seen incredible changes among my patients, who have been able to move forward, build new skills, and address longstanding challenges. By teaching patients to use effective psychological tools throughout their daily lives, I hope to help you build lasting resilience.
