About My Clients
I have experience and enjoy supporting youth, adults, couples, and families. I work collaboratively with folx to navigate past hurts and trauma to better understand current struggles. Together, we will expand your strengths and develop new skills to improve well-being and mental health. I specialize in working with the LGBTQ+ folx and supporting people living with chronic conditions and d/Disabilities. I work from an informed IFS lens to support grief and loss, anxiety, and depression.
My Background and Approach
I identify as a bisexual/queer, cis female Art Therapist. I grew up in the Midwest in a mixed faith home. I have personally experience managing my own medical and mental health struggles since I was a teenager. My personal experiences of trauma and the healing power of art brought me to the mental health field. I have been practicing since 2017, and continue to study and grow towards being a more culturally competent therapist and am actively anti-oppression and anti-racist. I value honesty and transparency. In working with children and youth, I offer affirming identity and gender care. I work with all people over the age of 7 as individual, couples, and family groups. I also specialize in supporting people with chronic conditions and d/Disabilities, such as IBDs, Asthma, Traumatic Brain Injury, cancer, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and trauma. I offer supervision and consultation for other mental health providers.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value honesty, transparency, and community. I strive to offer a compassionate and supportive presence to all of my clients. I continue my own self-care and mental health counseling, so I can show up as my best self for clients and in my life. As a white person and mental health provider, I believe it is my job to continue working on my own biases and pursuing more knowledge and education towards cultural competence. I identify as an anti-racist and work from an anti-oppression lens.
