About My Clients
Do you have questions about your child’s development? Are you tired and questioning yourself as a caregiver? Are you concerned by your child’s relationships and emotional wellbeing? I will partner with you to better understand your child and become more compassionate with yourself. I provide play therapy for children ages 0-7, family therapy, and individual therapy for caregivers, teachers and those struggling with compassion fatigue.
My Background and Approach
My work with children and caregivers is informed by over 10 years of experience working in early childhood mental health and autism services. I have a passion for supporting caregivers in using their relationships with children to foster growth and diminish distress. My approach to therapy is rooted in relationship centered care, attachment theory, polyvagal theory, neurodiversity affirmation, and play therapies. I have extensive training in working with Autism Spectrum disorders using the Greenspan Floortime Approach and addressing early developmental stress and trauma using Developmental Repair. My professional experience includes: individual skills and psychotherapy, in-home therapy, community-based therapy, family therapy, day treatment, school social work, inclusive early childhood education, and facilitating caregiver support groups. I also provide individual and group supervision for mental health providers and early childhood educators.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In life and in my work with children and families, I place a high value on anti-racist, queer affirming, and culturally responsive practices. I believe that part of culturally responsive care is shifting our focus from diagnosis and pathology to individual strengths and stressors. Our work together will focus around your priorities and you can expect that I will treat you with positive regard, openness, and curiosity.
