About My Clients

Feel out of control? Like your body and brain are fighting against you? Overwhelmed by emotion and life? Person-centered psychotherapy can help you find harmony with yourself again. I have specialized experience helping clients with a variety of anxiety issues, ADHD, codependence and trauma.

My Background and Approach

I am a person-centered psychotherapist. This consists of three main components: UNCONTITIONAL POSTIVE REGARD This means showing unconditional support and acceptance towards my clients. In order for my clients to feel safe encountering themselves they need a safe environment free of judgement. ACCURATE EMPATHY This is the ability to accurately understand your experience so that you can feel heard, validated, and known. These empathetic encounters can provide healing and insight. CONGRUENCE Otherwise known as genuineness and authenticity. Authentic and vulnerable human connection is a powerful tool for human growth and development. In other words, I am another human and I don’t shy away from that in my sessions. I completed my practicum at The Meadows Behavioral Health. There I learned to address a wide variety of mental health concerns in a fast-paced inpatient setting. I received intensive clinical experience in addressing trauma and treating the resulting mental health concerns.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

“This process of the good life is not, I am convinced, a life for the faint-fainthearted. It involves the stretching and growing of becoming more and more of one’s potentialities. It involves the courage to be. It means launching oneself fully into the stream of life.” — Carl R. Rogers I am passionate about helping people encounter their authentic self and the courage to embrace it. Growth is difficult and often scary. Therapy is a courageous act of self discovery, and luckily you don’t have to do it alone. We all play a role in creating the world we want to live in. So I participate in community engagement projects such as marches, canvassing, and petitioning supporting civil rights issues relevant to LGBTQ communities, communities of color, workers and women's rights. Most importantly I support clients existing in oppressive systems. Hobbies Art: especially adding to paintings found at thrift stores Gaming: board games, D&D, video games Reading: Neil Gaiman is my favorite author
