About My Clients
Adulting is hard! From school issues to work issues, starting a relationship to starting a family, there are countless transitions for emerging adults to navigate. These transitions (and the stresses of daily life) can cause or exacerbate depression and anxiety. But you don't have to figure it all out on your own! Please reach out if you could use extra support during difficult times. You deserve the opportunity to be heard and held as you face challenges.
My Background and Approach
I borrow ideas and techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, relational, attachment and other modalities. As each person has individualized experience, I don't feel one approach works for everyone; I work with my clients to determine their strengths and build upon them. I am trained in social work and a psychodynamic approach which leans on the special relationship between therapist and client. Through compassion and humor, I will work with you to cultivate the unique and special relationship between therapist and client that will help guide you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I come from a place of cultural humility, respecting gender, sexuality, social and racial justice. I do not seek to pathologize my clients as we are all more than just a diagnosis. To that end, I do not take insurance but have reasonable rates with a sliding scale to those who need it. I am a parent and can offer special insight to that incredibly wonderful and difficult role.
