About My Clients
You might have experienced trauma from your childhood, been hurt by people who were supposed to love you or had a more recent experience that is leaving you feeling anxious, depressed, and having a hard time trusting again. You might be worried that when you open the door to your pain, you'll become overwhelmed. You've already survived the trauma, let's work together to free yourself. Together we will create a safe space to heal at your own pace.
My Background and Approach
Therapy with me is more than talking about your memories and feelings. When we do talk, I make sure you feel heard and seen. However, we can't think our way out of a trauma response or into letting go. I use the mind-body connection to help you sooth your triggers, cope with anxiety, and release the pain that you've been holding. This might mean incorporating breathwork or mindfulness into our sessions. It could also mean using grounding strategies to feel more present in your life. My aim is to help you find relief with strategies you can use outside of therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My beliefs inform how I practice. I strive to be an anti-racist therapist. For me this means being conscious of how my identities intersect and show up in the therapy room. It also means working inside and outside of the therapy room to break down systemic oppressions. As a Queer therapist, it is also important to me to empower marginalized sexualities and genders. I'm not about to get your pronouns wrong, force gender stereotypes onto you, or prescribe to heteronormative ways of living.
