About My Clients
Are you a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, an athlete, or someone who experiences anxiety? If you find yourself feeling stuck by cycling through your thoughts, emotions, or fears, and you want that to change, then we will likely be a good fit. In our initial sessions, we will explore your history and background to determine your beliefs that you have formed about relationships and the world, to help better understand you. My goal is to guide you in better understanding yourself so you can heal.
My Background and Approach
I am a queer clinician with an LMHC, LCPC, and CMPC. I specialize in supporting young adults and adults through navigating life transitions, processing trauma, and exploring identity. My approach is empathic, curious, and conversational. In the time we spend together, I aim to get to know the true you and align with what you feel ideal for your life. I also take a solution-focused approach with many athletes I work with utilizing evidence-based practices to support athletes or performers in overcoming anxiety, injury, or overall just improving your approach to performance. No matter where you go, my goal is for you to have tools and techniques to carry with you to utilize and better understand yourself. We'll work collaboratively to address your concerns, starting with what happens for you in the moment, and how to gain better control over your body and thoughts. Through working together, I believe you can become more resilient and unlock your true self.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can change and grow at any time in their lives. I believe all person's rights should be respected and protected, and take an active role in advocating for human rights. Growing up as a closeted queer woman, I understand the complexities of navigating identity and internalized beliefs. As a former athlete with a career riddled by injury, I understand the nuances of athletic identity and performance. I also have a close understanding of how our attachment styles can dictate our relationships until we fully recognize the way the dynamics play out in our lives.
