About My Clients
I work with neurodivergent children, teens, and young adults via telehealth in Seattle, WA. My clients might struggle with depression, anxiety, suicidality, self-harm, executive function, sensory processing, emotion regulation, impulse control, and effective communication - I hope to create a space for you to process, heal, experiment, and grow into who you want to be.
My Background and Approach
Social justice has always been at the heart of my social work practice & is the framework I build my life around. My undergraduate degree is in Peace, Justice, and Conflict Studies & have a Master of Social Work, with a specialization in school social work. My field placements were in a justice-oriented free, walk-in substance use clinic & public schools in Chicago, and I've worked as a mental health crisis responder for children & teens after obtaining my MSW. Crisis work is where I discovered my strengths in working with neurodivergent youth. I do not require my clients to be diagnosed with a divergent neurotype because diagnosis can be extremely difficult to access - I offer free consultations to help clarify the symptoms or traits you are struggling with & determine if I could be a good fit as your therapist. I provide IEP advocacy for clients in ongoing therapy with me to because I believe accommodation is a very important piece in supporting students' mental health.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm a queer, non-binary, neurodivergent, first-generation college graduate with personal experiences with poverty and chronic pain. I work from an antiracist, anticapitalist, abolitionist perspective, and am committed the decolonization of healthcare in general, and mental healthcare specifically. I don't believe "mental illness" just happens to people - they emerge as our subconscious responses to stress & trauma interfere with what society expects from us. These social expectations have been created with the goal of making people comply & be productive for the sake of capitalism. My goal isn't to eliminate your mental health symptoms or neurodivergent traits - my goal is to support you in identifying your values & strengths, process experiences, experiment with & practice new responses, learn to advocate for & accommodate yourself, and grow into the person that you want to be, not who someone else expects you to be.
