About My Clients
If you have ever felt that you intellectualize, over-analyze, or get stuck in your head, learning to feel your emotions and connect with your body through an integrative therapeutic approach might help. My clients are often learning to move out of feeling trapped in shame and negative self-talk as well. I love to work within the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent community as a member of both. I also have experience in religious trauma, body neutrality/affirmation, anxiety, and depression.
My Background and Approach
Healing can happen by becoming the best version of yourself, and also by letting the worst version of yourself be loved. My practice begins with meeting you wherever you are. From there, we can build an environment of radical compassion, support, and collaboration to assist you in your journey. I aim to create a safe space where clients can explore multidimensional issues and set down the load of living in a messy society, even if just for an hour each week. I use mindfulness, embodiment/somatic experiencing, self-compassion, and expressive art therapy techniques. Our work together can look goal-oriented and skills-focused, or we can work on building the body connection to create trust and safety for trauma processing. All approaches (IFS, ACT, DBT) are through a trauma-informed lens.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My commitment to anti-racism, anti-ableism, intersectional feminism, HAES (Health at Every Size), and support for marginalized communities is embedded in how I support clients. My own experience with marginalization within therapeutic relationships is eventually what motivated me to join the field and become the clinician I wanted to see in the world. I love hearing about clients' special interests/fixations, cycling through various craft hobbies, and snuggling my tripod rescue cat, Gremlin.
