About My Clients
Although I do not have a formal or restrictive age requirement on the client population I serve, I have lived experience that helps me to connect well and enjoy working with clients who are of middle age and older.
My Background and Approach
I completed my clinical internship and graduated with my Master’s degree in Applied Psychological Science from Pacific University in August 2022. Prior to completing my masters program, I eared a dual bachelor of science in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Idaho in 2019. I had the honor of completing my internship in a community health setting where I gained exposure and experience through valuable practice and supervision. Existential and Humanistic Orientations to therapy inform my counseling style and offer a good fit for individuals who are seeking mental health treatment as they work through issues related to self esteem, purpose, growth, and other mental health problems.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Authenticity, knowledge, justice, and reciprocity are guiding principals that shape beliefs and perspective on living well. Authenticity allows space for trust and vulnerability as we learn how to engage with ourselves and the world around us. Emotional Competency is not a skill that we are born with and it takes work to become a master of one's own mind. Knowledge and justice are principals that work in tandem within my belief system. Gaining the awareness and knowledge of how to practice living authentically allows us to examine our beliefs. Ultimately, growing to replace the behaviors and thinking patterns that no longer serve us.
