About My Clients
Everyone is in a different place when they start therapy. Whether it’s their first or ninth time, or whether they view therapy as exciting or nerve wracking, my ideal client is ready to face the trials that line the road to a life worth living. My ideal client is willing to share their authentic self and be vulnerable and trusting enough for me to prove myself worthy of being their partner in their journey for growth.
My Background and Approach
I started my career in mental health as a Psychiatric Technician in adult, elder adult, and adolescent inpatient mental health and dual-diagnosis units across CT, and it was through observing the invalidating and often traumatizing nature of these experiences that I assigned myself the mission of becoming a non-carceral clinician. After graduating from my Masters of Social Work program at Simmons University, I became a community mental health provider in adult outpatient services, where I developed and implemented intensive outpatient programming for substance use disorders, individual therapy, MAT-assisted therapy, and group therapy. Since my transition into group private practice, I have since become EMDR- and Somatic Experiences Therapy-trained and developed a passion for working with neurodiverse adults on healing past traumas, expressing authenticity and individuality, and reclaiming power through self-advocacy without the need for pathologizing behavioral therapies.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As an AuDHD therapist, I employ affirming approaches to navigate unmasking neurodivergence and reject behavioral-based therapeutic techniques that historically harm neurodiverse communities. I'm a radically progressive therapist who actively practices decolonizing therapeutic spaces through the rejection of harmful, antiquated lenses of race and ethnicity, the elevation of BIPOC and API voices in positions of influence, and challenging my own individual privilege. I am a supporter of Black Lives Matter, ACLU, and Planned Parenthood. I champion every person's right to choose their care and utilize harm reduction to meet clients where they are. I actively support and have volunteered with the Sex Workers and Allies Network (SWAN) to provide narcan and safe use supplies to unhoused communities in CT. I'm a queer therapist who is affirming and experienced in consensual non monogamy and polyamory, and welcome safe kink/ BDSM/ fetish practices as well as sexual exploration/ questioning.
