About My Clients

I focus my efforts on holding space for 1st/2nd-generation Latinx & Hispanic immigrants, mixed/biracial, bicultural, queer, trans, and gender non-conforming folks. When my clients first come in they feel stretched thin and burdened by the constant stress of "never enough-ness". They have stuffed every difficult emotion and memory as deep down as possible, striving to live up to others expectations, disconnecting from parts of themselves. Their chest feels heavy, their shoulders feel tight.

My Background and Approach

Our minds and bodies all hold the capacity to naturally tend towards a state of connection and balance. Unfortunately, our lives gets in the way - Family roles, societal demands, systemic barriers, avoided emotions.. Our naturally capacities to process and heal are stalled and we become focused only on survival. I get it. I see you. You've been living on auto-pilot, disconnected from your internal needs and experiences. You feel isolated and out of option. You've developed habits and patterns that have gotten you this far, but now you're ready for a change. I collaboratively create a safe and confidential space for my clients to let down their shields, process their emotions, and overcome their inner critics. Our therapeutic relationship becomes a sacred place for them to show up in all their beautiful complexities, leading to greater insight, growth, and self-acceptance. They find empowerment and more room to breathe.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

We all deserve access to culturally sensitive, affirming care. I strive to do my part, both as a human and as a counselor, to continually assess my own biases and take note of how my own intersectional identities show up in our therapeutic relationship. I'm a cis gender, straight, mixed/biracial, bicultural, white, half-Mexican, and small fat, neurodivergent, able-bodied female living in Asheville, North Carolina. I feel empowered as a proud daughter of an immigrant, 1st gen US-citizen, and 1st gen college graduate. I identify with my low-income, working class upbringing and Southernisms as a lifelong NC resident. I prioritize my efforts towards creating an environment and counseling practice that is anti-racist, LGBTQQIA+ affirming, fat liberating, sex-positive, pro-immigrant, neurodiversity-affirming, and disability justice-oriented.
