My Background and Approach
I have worked with college students experiencing various concerns, including grief, ADHD, anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, trauma, personality disorders, and disordered eating. I have led an Understanding Self and Others counseling group, a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skills counseling group, and an Interpersonal Violence Support Group. I am very interested in working with people who deal with issues related to trauma and addiction. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Written Exposure Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I hope to continue to work with college students and to support them in their developmental journey. I take an eclectic approach to counseling and tailor the sessions to the client's needs. I take a client-centered, strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to counseling. I have been trained in Safe Zone 1.0 & 2.0, Trans Zone, Recovery Zone, and Green Zone.
