About My Clients

Clients typically work with me on life transitions and/or trauma healing. Life transitions (for example: graduation, divorce, moving, coming out, or social and/or medical gender transition) can be destabilizing but also an opportunity to explore our patterns, values, and goals. Trauma healing can be an intimidating process. I work with helping clients shift their patterns, change their narratives about themselves and the world, feel safer, and develop a sense of belonging in this world.

My Background and Approach

I flexibly work with my clients on helping them meet their goals, I bring patience, education/training, warmth, and a firm belief that you can keep healing with effective effort. Sometimes this takes a few tries to find the modality that best suits your needs, I have received significant training in EMDR, DBT, and Expressive Arts Therapy. I obtained a Master of Education in Counseling: Community Mental Health from the University of Alaska: Fairbanks and graduated in 2020. My internship was through Tanana Chiefs Conference. This included things like individual therapy for adults, teenagers, and children, running groups (trauma, addictions, DBT skills), case management, and working with these systems on creating environments that were safer for people who have experienced trauma and LGBTQIA+ people.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a queer, non-binary, transmasculine person. I volunteer with housing and food security causes and I am constantly trying to expand and deepen my knowledge of the way society marginalizes people, the way that impacts people, and the way they resist those impacts. My values strongly influence my way of being in the world, including as a therapist so I will start by saying I am a queer and trans-affirming feminist and committed to consistently deepening my knowledge and practical actions around anti-racism, disability advocacy, housing security, and other ways people are marginalized. When alone I like to read (sci-fi, fantasy, and memoirs), craft (crochet, painting, and ceramics), and look at memes. When I am with friends, I play tabletop roleplaying games, hike/kayak, sing, and dance. I love animals and have a formerly feral tuxedo cat that occasionally pops in on telehealth appointments.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
