About My Clients
I aim to welcome all people to my practice. I have specialized experience in treating borderline personality disorder, schizophrenia spectrum disorders and psychosis, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, trauma, gender identity issues, sexual identity issues, grief, and neurodivergence. My ideal client is anyone that wants to better their lives, and whatever "better" looks like is up to the client.
My Background and Approach
I have a B.S. in psychology, women and gender studies, and religion from Central Michigan University and a MSW in clinical social work from Michigan State University. I have experience in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), feminist therapy, and person-centered therapy. I also have experience in substance use counseling. What this translates to for you is learning skills that will help you improve your every day life and functioning. I want to be a support in your life that is there to celebrate your accomplishments and sit with you during your dark times.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the inherent worth of all people. I believe in intersectionality, where your identities come together to create your unique life experience. I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community. I am sex worker, poly and non monogamous, and kink allied. I believe in body positivity and health at every size. I am racial justice allied. I volunteer for a suicide prevention hotline, as this is a cause that means a lot to me. I also have volunteered for other causes that are important to me, such as for domestic violence shelters, animal shelters, mental health advocacy organizations, and gender equality organizations.
