About My Clients
As a trained EMDR and trauma-informed clinician, I work well with those ready to process traumatic past experiences. I work with those processing family of origin trauma, sexual or gender-based trauma, and those with religious trauma or rebuilding life after high-demand religion. My ideal client is someone who comes consistently to our sessions with bravery and inner curiosity, even when it is difficult.
My Background and Approach
I am a trained psychotherapist with an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Park University in Chicago, working from a client-centered, justice-oriented perspective. As a queer and trans person myself, I have extra training around LGBTQ+ individuals, trans and gender-expansive identities, and expansive relationship structures, as well as lived experience and knowledge from those who I hold in community. I am poly and kink affirming and sex-positive, a Health At Every Size practitioner, and I work to incorporate anti-oppressive frameworks into the therapy process.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I enjoy working with adults and young adults, and also take on relational/couples therapy cases for those looking to incorporate and understand their expansive identities in the context of their relationship, as well as for premarital/pre-commitment couples therapy. As a trained EMDR and trauma-informed clinician, I also work well with those ready to process traumatic past experiences. Incorporating EMDR into your therapy is a personal decision and I will work with you to be informed and feel confident about the process, if you do choose to pursue that specific modality in our work. I am committed to making mental healthcare safer and more inclusive for all populations, identities, and diagnoses. I work to make clients comfortable with the therapist-client dynamic and from the beginning, I begin discussions about safety, anti-carceral mental healthcare, and how to provide the most positive and informed care to all of my clients possible.
