About My Clients
Experiencing sexual abuse or assault can alter the way we see ourselves and the world. Learning to trust your gut, your body, and your loved ones again may seem impossible. Navigating changes in your sexual functioning, desire/libido, or relationships can be frustrating and lonely for individuals and couples alike. Sex or couples therapy can help you strengthen your mind-body-spirit connection and create deeper harmony in your relationships.
My Background and Approach
I draw on a combination of therapy styles to create an approach that’s tailored to your needs and goals. This may include exploring the connections between your thoughts, emotions, and actions (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy/CBT), delving into the early attachments in your life and your emotional processes (Emotionally Focused Therapy/EFT) and working with the mind-body connection (somatic therapy) and other strategies.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
While the exact plan to reach goals is different for every client, you can always count on therapy with me being trauma-informed, sex positive, and affirming of the entire spectrum of gender and sexual diversity. I invite my clients to bring their full selves into the therapy room. That means we’re free to discuss other aspects of your identity including race, ethnicity, religion/spirituality and (dis)ability that may impact your intimate life.
