About My Clients
Are you feeling stuck or overwhelmed? I specialize in coming alongside people dealing with: - Grief (from any type of loss) - Trauma (past or recent) - Mood issues (stress/anxiety, depression, panic, PMS) - Chronic health issues/disability - Prenatal/postpartum or infertility issues - .... Or, interested in a different kind of therapy (outdoors!) I love partnering with teens (13+), college students, younger and older adults of all backgrounds, especially LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC folks.
My Background and Approach
Since 2008, I have worked with a diverse set of people in a wide range of settings, from residential treatment and courts, to schools and telehealth. From this experience I have witnessed what Mark Doty noted: “What is healing but a shift in perspective?” For some people, learning new coping or communication skills brings that shift in perspective. For others it may come through exploring and expressing through creativity, accessing their body’s wisdom, practicing self-compassion and mindfulness, or resolving stuck emotional patterns. Whatever supports change for you, I can offer my empathic, non-judgmental presence to skillfully guide you in connecting with your innate resilience. I am an expressive arts and eco (nature-based) therapist trained in a variety of holistic approaches. More than just talk therapy, I seek to facilitate transformational experiences. Whether we meet online or outdoors, I hope to explore ways to bring you more peace of mind, body, and spirit.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
On a more personal note, I value my roles as a partner, mother, and community member. My own experiences of trauma and oppression inform my work, as well as my ongoing commitment to racial and environmental justice as a white settler. I love living in the mountains and making time to learn, camp, swim, quilt, explore permaculture, and engage my spiritual practices. I am excited to work outside, where I find peace, beauty, and wisdom.
