Welcome! I am an experienced Child & Family Therapist specializing in work with children (ages 3+), teens, parents/caregivers, and families.

About My Clients

I specialize in treating children and adolescents with behavioral issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, adjustment difficulties, and social/emotional challenges. I also work with parents and caregivers to help with parenting concerns and provide positive parenting support. I am additionally certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), designed to improve the caregiver-child bond, increase warmth and attachment, and reduce child behavioral problems.

My Background and Approach

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Drama Therapist, my practice combines traditional talk therapy with artistic, experiential, and play-based therapeutic techniques. My approach is to compliment, enhance, and expand evidence-based cognitive behavioral treatment models through creative and expressive means. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) seeks to alleviate symptoms and promote personal growth through processing emotions, cognitive re-structuring, and behavioral modification. These targets are traditionally approached primarily through talk therapy; my treatment works toward these goals by additionally incorporating the intentional use of creative arts. Clients connect with and express feelings, alter personal narratives, and “try on” and explore alternative actions experientially and through play in a warm, supportive environment. I am also certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I operate from a strengths-based, collaborative perspective and believe that all children, youth, and families are resilient and capable of overcoming challenges. I believe that families are the experts of their own experiences and have the right to be treated respectfully and be provided competent care. All children and youth deserve to have their voices heard, opportunities for success, skills and tools for navigating the world, and feelings of hope and happiness. Mental health clinicians have a responsibility as part of a larger community to help nurture and develop resilience in all children and youth. It is my job to seek awareness of culture, community, and the values of individual youths and families, and flexibly deliver services that are tailored to meet each family’s unique needs.
