About My Clients

I work with adolescents and adults and to help individuals find relief from grief, trauma, depression, anxiety, and the impact of late-stage capitalism, white supremacy and heteropatriarchy. My focus is supporting those who experience themselves as outsiders to dominant culture: creative artists, performers, activists, LGBTQAI+ and neurodivergent folks and people who may feel "other" due to cultural or family bias.

My Background and Approach

I practice therapy from a humanistic/existential orientation, focused on client strengths and possibilities rather than deficits or pathology. I will support you to find joy in your life as it is right now, rather than over-focusing on the past, the future, or how things "should" or "could be." Together, we will work to reveal "what is," and how you can accept and make the most of it. My foundational goal is to develop a trusting, warm, and authentic therapeutic relationship with each of my clients, and I also believe it is crucial for therapy to have structure. I use tools from a large palette of therapeutic modalities including Existential Therapy, Mindful Self Compassion, Parts Work, Polyvagal-Informed Therapy, Feminist Relational-Cultural Theory, developmental models, attachment model. I am also offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Attachment-Based EMDR.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a white, cisgender, queer woman who experiences disability related to Rheumatoid Arthritis. I hold privilege around race, ethnicity, national origin and socioeconomic status. I’m committed to staying aware of this, and accountable for continuing to build my skills related to anti-oppression work and decolonizing mental health. As a queer and bi identified cisgender woman. I have a special interest in supporting bi, pan and other non-monosexual queer people to navigate biphobia and a sense of not being “queer enough.” I have lifelong commitment to confronting internalized and externalized white supremacy and am continually striving to decolonize my therapy practice. I welcome work with white clients who are ready to unpack and disrupt white supremacy. My approach to work with BIPOC clients is one of accountability, cultural humility and transparency.
