About My Clients
Do you feel like your anxiety or depression takes over at the worst possible moments? Are you finding it difficult to feel growth in managing trauma responses? Are you seeking a safe and brave space for therapy that explores intersectional identity (i.e., which is open to LGBT+, race, spirituality, religion, and other identity affiliations/alliances).
My Background and Approach
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher. I'm certified in Prepare/Enrich Pre-Marital Counseling (Secular and Non-Secular). In addition, certified in the Trauma Conscious Yoga Method (TCYM) and in the process of obtaining a certification as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I graduated from UGA with my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 2014, and my Master’s degree in Social Work with a certificate in Nonprofit Management in 2015. Currently, I work at a community service board and volunteer at AADM (Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement), in the civil rights and advocacy department. I focus on anxiety, depression, and trauma-informed care through a combination of traditional psychotherapy and somatic therapeutic techniques. Overall, I help individuals gain self-awareness and growth in holistic well-being. I assist exploration of inter-sectional identity with LGBTQIA+, race, spirituality, and other identity affiliations/alliances.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in holistic care in mental health as well as strive for individuals to have a brave space to discover their own unique identity and voice. I think that standing against intersectional and systemic discrimination will help define the heart of any community as a whole. Currently I volunteer at AADM, which believes in standing against intersectional discrimination (i.e., race, queer and trans, and etc). I encourage you to click on the website for Revolution Therapy and Yoga (a somatic trauma, sex therapy and yoga space in Athens, GA). I am also open to questions over the phone. Note: I can offer online therapy or in-person.
