About My Clients
Through a humanistic approach, I support clients who struggle with trauma, physical (somatic) symptoms of mental health, experiencing and regulating emotions, substance use/ addiction, self-acceptance/ self-advocacy, and wounding from parents/caregivers. I also work with clients who have experienced spiritual and religious abuse/adverse experiences.
My Background and Approach
I work with clients whose anxiety feels out of control and is showing up as bodily symptoms. My approach is nervous system and somatic focused, and I am passionate about helping clients feel safe and at home in their bodies. Through nervous system regulation, I support folks whose mental health symptoms also stem from attachment and developmental trauma, including neglect and abuse experienced in childhood. I have additional training in emotionally focused therapy, which invites individuals to courageously hold their emotions and create new patterns of engaging with self and others. My approach is culturally-aware and honors the unique identities of my clients. The populations I frequently work with are those who have experienced spiritual/religious abuse and those in the LGBTQIA+ community. I also work from a feminist, systemic lens, conceptualizing my clients’ struggles within the systems they exist in. I also use creative approaches with clients as well (poetry, lyrics, lit).
