About My Clients
I work with people looking to address internal, relational, and/or systemic challenges negatively impacting their lives. I support people experiencing various mental health disorders such as PTSD, anxiety, and depression. I also work with folks wanting to improve relationships with themselves and/or with loved ones. If you're looking for a fun, compassionate, and relational therapist, I might be the therapist for you!
My Background and Approach
I am trained in Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) and have 11+ years of experience working with people who have experienced trauma (racial, sexual, immigration, etc). Additionally, in my work with folks dealing with partner and/or family issues, I utilize an attachment lens, as well as a reparenting of the inner child framework. I also work with people looking to be their most authentic selves by challenging the systems of oppression around them and within them. For example, I encourage clients to explore the way in which perfectionism, binary (either/or) thinking, and hyper-individualism might be showing up in their lives, and examine whether those are the values they want to live by. Similarly, we explore the way in which systems of oppression like capitalism, cis-hetero-patriarchy, and white supremacy (and many others) tell us false and negative narratives about ourselves, and their impact on our self-esteem and self-worth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
1. I believe all of us are worthy because we exist, not because systems of oppression might find us valuable. 2. I approach life and this work from a dichotomous place—the world is both a beautiful and an ugly place—and look at the individual and social circumstances that impact our lives on a daily basis. 3. I wholeheartedly believe that it is a privilege to be a part of my clients' healing while holding space, challenging them to grow, and witnessing their journey with a compassionate lens. So, if you'd like to work with me, please reach out and schedule a 20 minute video call to see if we're a good fit! P.S. I'm currently working at LynLake Centers for Wellbeing from 10am-5pm CST, Monday-Thursday. I work with adults and couples via telehealth only.
