About My Clients
I love working with folks who recognize that their relationship with food, body, or movement is interfering with relationships, school or career goals, or how they feel about themselves. My ideal client is someone ready to take their power back from diet culture. I have experience working with eating disorders from years of working at an ED treatment center but I also enjoy working with those who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and self-worth related to body image or weight stigma.
My Background and Approach
My approach is humanistic, client-centered, non-judgmental, and weight-inclusive. In addition to being a counselor, I'm a state certified nutritionist, massage therapist, and American College of Sports Medicine certified exercise physiologist. I believe we all have the inner knowing, ability, and right to live our best life but that disempowering experiences can disconnect us from ourselves. I think of myself as a support character in my clients' lives that helps them get back on their path to empowerment to write their next chapter.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm passionate about helping folks divest from diet culture. I'm a fat positive provider and I stand for disentangling weight stigma from our policy decisions and healthcare systems, which disproportionately impact BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. As a straight, cis-gendered, able-bodied white female, I am committed to acknowledging and challenging my limited lens and showing up for delving into the pain and messiness of dismantling colonialism and white supremacy.
