About My Clients
Are you feeling stuck in any aspect of your life? Have you experienced any type of trauma? Are you neurodivergent and/or LGBTQIA? I enjoy working with anyone who is willing and ready to reach out for support to address the things that are making life difficult.
My Background and Approach
I approach everyone I work with, with a trauma-informed, person-centered, and feminist-theory approach. That means I see you as the expert on your life and experiences, I will walk alongside you providing validation and tools along the way, and we will reference the systems/cultures that impact you. I was trained in EMDR while still in my internship during graduate school, and am now EMDR Certified. I enjoy working with adolescents 15+ through late adulthood, who want support around symptoms related to trauma/C-PTSD, depression, anxiety, social anxiety, neurodivergencies, and those who have experienced religious trauma.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone deserves a space to tell their story with dignity and respect. I am committed to expanding my knowledge and education around social justice issues, and finding ways to integrate what I learn into how I provide counseling services. I believe that the most beneficial part of therapy is the therapeutic alliance; and so making sure we are a good fit is very important to me as we start working together. I am very open to feedback on what is working and what isn't for all of the people I work with. Therapy should work for YOU, and not the other way around; and I want work with you to create the mental health treatment that will benefit you the most.
