About My Clients
My clients are people who want to be their best on their terms, including developing healthy coping skills and beliefs about themselves. Using therapy, my clients might treat anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and trauma. My clients may also include couples who would like to develop deeper and more meaningful relationships, with open communication, trust, and intimacy.
My Background and Approach
I have considerable experience in processing trauma, developing healthy relationships, and helping people to create a life they want. Before entering private practice, I enjoyed working within the child welfare system, working with children and families to process trauma, develop healthy coping skills and beliefs about themselves, and to identify, develop, and implement healthy boundaries, roles, and rules within family systems to address dysfunction from the family’s view. In addition to treating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and postpartum/peripartum changes/transitions, I enjoy working with couples to develop deeper and more meaningful relationships, with open communication, trust, and intimacy. I approach therapy from a number of systemic theories, like narrative therapy and solution focused. I recognize that experiences alter our perceptions, our narrative, our emotions and ability to express emotions and concepts effectively, and want to help people rewrite their narrative
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that anyone can make changes that will give them the freedom to be their authentic self. I am a staunch supporter, and part of, the LGBTQ community. One thing I value most is individual narratives, and their influence on, and ability to be influenced by, bigger and more complex narratives. I love witnessing and affirming changes in those narratives. I am an advocate and support of destigmatizing mental health topics, issues, and treatments, and supporting people where they are at as they make changes they identified.
