About My Clients

Those that I work with have been impacted by various forms of adversity, loss, long-term stress, and trauma. To be a bit more specific, though, I particularly enjoy working with populations of folks who are in need of learning how to set boundaries for themselves, are curious to learn more about how experiences in their families of origin impact their present-day experiences, have experienced grief from the loss of a loved one, and are going through a variety of life transitions and stressors.

My Background and Approach

My therapeutic approach is a combination of evidenced-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (understanding the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors), Interpersonal, Relational, and Attachment-based (understanding the impact of early relationships and current social roles on your daily life), Strengths based (focusing on your innate resourcefulness and strengths, yes, we all have them!), Mindfulness based techniques (learning how to connect with the here-and-the-now), as well as trauma-informed approaches.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I was born & raised in rural Southwest Georgia, where access to therapy and mental health services was little-to-none. I witnessed first-hand the detrimental effects of lack of access to mental health care on generations of people. Therefore, I offer virtual sessions to those in my hometown area of Southwest GA and surrounding counties in addition to in-person and virtual sessions to those in the Atlanta area. I am committed to continually educating myself on social and racial matters so that I can provide culturally competent care to clients of all backgrounds regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, race, ethnicity, ability status, socio-economic background, religion, and body shape and size. As a therapist and a fellow human being who has done my own personal therapeutic work, I greatly believe in the transformative power of therapy. I would be honored to walk alongside you in your therapeutic journey. Shoot me an email or give me a call and let's begin!
