About My Clients
Do you feel overwhelmed and trapped by trauma, difficult feelings, and thoughts you can't shake? Are you looking for support for yourself or a family member experiencing symptoms of psychosis? Do you feel disempowered? Sometimes my clients feel alone in these struggles. It is my honor as a therapist to walk alongside each client and use therapy as an opportunity for growth, validation, and empowerment.
My Background and Approach
I have expertise in more severe and chronic mental health concerns, including psychosis, PTSD, depression, and difficulty managing emotions, connecting with others and/or thinking. I completed specialty training in CBT for psychosis, Social Skills Training, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Seeking Safety, among others. I trained in person-centered, research-supported treatments in graduate school and my fellowship at UCSD/San Diego VA. I have worked in inpatient and residential care settings. I enjoy collaborating with clients to understand their values, preferences, and goals, and identify a therapeutic approach that research has found to be helpful. My goal is to help you live the life you want, on your terms- not to fit into what society wants from you. I have significant experience working with women, people of color, neurodivergent and disabled people, and veterans. I also conduct research focused on improving mental health care and client-clinician collaboration.
