About My Clients
It can be so isolating and overwhelming dealing with anxiety, depression, or other painful mental health challenges on your own. It can be so hard to find a way forward, when every breath and every moment feels insurmountable. Thankfully, you don't have to do it alone, and there are effective treatments to help you feel better. I feel so honored to do this work, and to help people find ways to enjoy life more!
My Background and Approach
I have specific experience treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), along with experience working with issues of depression, anxiety, and trauma symptoms. I utilize evidence based practices including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which have significant support for treating OCD and anxiety disorders, among others. At the same time, I know that therapy is not one-size-fits-all. I integrate trauma-informed and somatic practices to my work, ensuring that we find the approach that resonates best with you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We cannot learn, grow, or thrive when we are outside our window of tolerance, so one of my priorities in therapy is helping you experience the safety and grounding necessary to move forward. To promote safety, I value context, collaboration, and consent in my work with clients. You are the expert on your own life, and my role is to support you in that! Another aspect of safety in treatment include awareness of the intersectional identities of myself and my clients. I am LGBTQ+ and neurodiversity affirming, and strive to remain aware of my own social location as a white woman as I navigate this work.
