My Background and Approach
I mainly support individuals using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I use a combination of skill building, emotional regulation/mindfulness practices, self-reflection, and actions toward values to help people work through whatever they are facing. My approach also works to help build people's sense of agency and self-worth through empowerment. I also have extensive experience working with neurodivergent minds (autism, ADHD, etc), like my own.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I identify as an Asian, Neurodivergent, LGBTQ+ counselor. I value honesty, humor, and connection the most in my life and my approach to working with others. I truly believe that building strong and safe connections with others, even though those who think differently from us is a key to making a better world. I am active in my community having participated in many marches and community actions in my home state over the past few years as well as working as an advocate for neurodivergent students within the school system. It is my belief that we do not need to have all of our challenges sorted out before we can start living our best lives. Through support, empowerment, and skill building we can build the kind of life and relationships we want.
