About My Clients
First-time therapy users, folks who have tried therapy but feel uncertain about the best ways to get what they want from it. I invite folks who are looking to talk to someone for a few sessions. I use a brief therapy model, and collaborate with you to harmonize your mind & body while also harmonizing different parts of your life. I invite clients who like to collaborate in their care; I'm open to receiving & offering feedback.
My Background and Approach
I believe pain & suffering are a typical part of life but our feelings about them can be our teachers. I would love to support you in befriending your feelings so you can learn from them rather than escape them. I consider psychotherapy a relationship between two human beings, where one is the "expert of their experience" and the other is a "mental health expert". Our conversations are a way to integrate our knowledge. I speak to you the way I speak to myself and others in my life, my therapeutic reflections and tools are a product of what I experience in conversation with you. I strive to identify a milestone for us each time we meet so that each time we meet, we move further along in the direction you wish to go. I share what I know from my training, experience and ongoing learning but I remain humble enough to receive feedback from you about what may or may not be helpful. Use the online scheduling tool to meet me for a brief discovery call to see if I'm the right fit for you
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
If you have been oppressed or rendered invisible based on race, caste, gender, sexuality, disability, illness, immigration status, language, national origin- Please know, I SEE YOU. I commit to always seeing you. I consider myself a global citizen and remain attentive to the history and ongoing experiences of people across the world, especially indigenous peoples who are often first-responders to climate change. I practice in solidarity with movements towards Black Liberation and the Abolition of Caste. As a woman of color from India, a person with Caste privilege, I continue my ongoing work around dismantling ways in which I have been impacted by the ideology of white supremacy and upper caste supremacy. I strive to live in harmony with this Planet.
