About My Clients
My passion lies in working with women (ages 18+) who struggle with anxiety, grief and loss, and low self-esteem. I value the opportunity to hear your story, walk with you on your journey, and learn from and with you as you find the change you’re seeking. You already have what you need within you - whether you believe that right now or not - and you are at the right place at the right time to start something different. My Background and Approach
I believe that therapy is a form of self-care. It’s a time for reflection, insight, and growth, and it offers opportunities for healing, balance, and clarity. I value and am trained in clinically-proven practices, including: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). If you’re interested in a compassionate and practical approach to therapy, I welcome the opportunity to work with you. I believe that everybody has a story, and I will not judge you or your story; in fact, I believe that our stories are significant, as they’re each a piece of our own healing puzzle.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I’ve always been curious about people & their stories. As a child, I learned that empathizing with others, not judging them & being a good listener were beneficial skills to have in my relationships. These traits, along with a strong desire to help people & better understand the world, led me to the study of psychology as an undergraduate. While pursuing my Bachelor’s degree, my depression & anxiety symptoms intensified. As a sophomore in college, I started going to therapy. It was really cathartic & helpful in so many ways. My 1st therapist inspired me to pursue the same career path, so I could help other people cultivate their own healing, too. Throughout the rest of college, during grad school & in the years that've followed, I’ve regularly pursued mental health treatment & plan to do so for the foreseeable future. Therapists are people, too; in fact, we're humans first. I support progressive ideals & believe love is love, Black Lives Matter, & reproductive rights are human rights.
