About My Clients
Being on this journey of life can be challenging, and dang it can be extra hard swimming upstream. Are you looking for a counselor who can meet you where you are and bring a compassionate, grounding and fiery energy to your intersecting identities? Are you seeking some extra support with existing in this world? Are you wanting to better know yourself and explore growing edges? Griffin's main clientele are folx who are trans, queer, LGBTQIA+, questioning, neurodiverse, BIPOC, and/or practice CNM
My Background and Approach
Through a client-centered, trauma-informed, social justice perspective, Griffin takes into account the larger systems at play for each client and relationship configuration. By Griffin gently bringing attention to internal sensations, emotions, movement and thoughts, clients are able to turn towards their most genuine, creative, empowered, compassionate and resilient selves. Griffin and their clients co-create the therapeutic space together, with their clients deciding the pacing of the therapeutic explorations. Griffin embraces and intentionally claims their silliness, awkwardness, and weirdness, which ultimately helps them best support their clients. In turn, Griffin encourages their clients to explore and honor their own unique selves. When clients are interested, Griffin utilizes the Safe and Sound Protocol - which helps re-tune the vagus nerve and supports nervous system regulation. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in disability, racial, gender, sexuality and environmental justice and the interconnection of them all. I believe in the power of asking questions, staying curious, increasing honesty with ourselves and each other, and acting in ways that support justice within our inner ourselves, relationships, communities, systems and institutions. And I believe this is a continual process of tending to the challenges right alongside giving and receiving self and collective nourishment and connection in ways that feel as sustainable as possible. I am a continual learner and deeply support others continuing to be open to learning about themselves, relationships, systems and institutions. As someone who is neuroqueer and navigates health challenges, I also believe in the power of rest, supportive sensory engagement and listening to the parts of ourselves that often become marginalized within capitalism and productivity ideology. I offer in person and online sessions
