About My Clients
My specialty is in supporting trans and nonbinary youth, young adults, and their families in both identity related areas as well as other mental health concerns. Through overlaps in the trans community I also provide affirming care to neurodivergent individuals. I also have extensive experience working with youth and young adults with depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and autism.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and received my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with specialization in Art Therapy from Lesley University in 2016. I provide a combination of talk, play, and art therapy to clients. I utilize a client centered and strengths based approach with a focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship and encouraging self compassion.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am always in the journey of decolonizing my therapy practice and finding ways to re-imagine my field and encourage colleagues to do so as well. During sessions I integrate beliefs in trauma informed care, anti-oppression work, neurodiversity, disability justice, health at every size (HAES), and gender affirming care among other areas of liberation work. I utilize the theory of principles based therapy which means I integrate tools from approaches such as SMART (sensory motor arousal regulation treatment), ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), narrative therapy, and other counseling theories based on their clients needs.
