About My Clients
I believe that human beings are inherently relational &that we are born to thrive from connection to others. We wouldn’t be who we are if not for the people that have come in, & sometimes out, of our lives. Examining these relationships can be a huge part of therapy, whether it’s with our parents, our partners, or ourselves. To create true & lasting change, I believe it is crucial to take a holistic approach to healing, incorporating the mind-body connection & the intersection of our identities.
My Background and Approach
I believe that the personal is political and that our identities and existence are formed by the systems of which we are a part. I am a trauma-informed, psychodynamic, intuitive, feminist therapist at my core with a strong passion for working within my queer community. I hope to use therapy as a forum to acknowledge, unpack, and dismantle systemic oppression and affirm every identity just as they are. I believe we are all connected through the human condition and must find new ways to exist in a world that oftentimes doesn't feel safe for so many of us. I also believe everyone has trauma in our background - something we've experienced that has forever altered the way we see ourselves and the world. It is up to us to find ways to use our voice, connect with others, and create a reality for ourselves in which we are empowered, fulfilled, and inspired.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we are each the expert of our own experience, that even if it doesn't seem clear to us, we are able to find our highest truths. I do not believe it is possible to conceptualize our lives without taking into account the many systems, influences, and experiences that contribute to the foundation of who we are and how we see the world around us. I believe that in spite of so many things being outside of our control, we can find ways to empower ourselves, be ourselves, and prioritize ourselves.
