About My Clients
My clients typically struggle with depression, anxiety, and borderline personality disorder as a result of past trauma, i.e. C-PTSD. Some of my clients also experience these symptoms as a result of changes in their lives and grief. In the beginning the main focus will be on building rapport, establishing our relationship, assessing areas of change, and building a toolbox of coping skills.
My Background and Approach
With a background in community mental health, I have experience working with adults and adolescents experiencing a wide range of mental health symptoms and severities. I have honed my skills in CBT, DBT, and person-centered. In fact, in the last year I became a DBT certified counselor.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
A person-centered therapist I believe it's not my job to tell you how to live your life and what to change, because I believe you already know what you want and need. Instead, I join you on your journey and help you develop insight into your situation, give you tools, teach you how to use them, and help you see change as an opportunity. As your therapist, I fully accept you just as you are. A proven catalyst for change is our relationship and my focus in our first sessions is on building rapport, and hearing your story directly from you. From there we will develop goals together that align with the vision you have for yourself. I hope you reach out and allow me to join you on your journey.
