About My Clients
Do you feel overwhelmed? Do you feel uncertain in everyday life or about relationships? Living with depression, anxiety, or major health problems is difficult to navigate without support and understanding yourself more and what you’re going through. My clients find that I’m successful at helping them gain a deeper awareness of what’s causing discomfort while increasing coping, self-esteem and gratitude.
My Background and Approach
I approach and understand well-being from a holistic perspective meaning you and I explore what may be beneath the symptoms that bring you to therapy. What my clients find invaluable in our work together is the trusting relationship we develop and how safe they feel to be vulnerable and share what’s really going on. I find this the most important part of therapy and is an area I pay particular attention to in order to facilitate change and growth. I utilize aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness-based approaches in our work together. If you would like to see if we may be a good fit please reach out to me for a brief consultation and or an initial intake session.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In my time in private practice, I have worked mainly with young adults and middle aged adults. My strengths lie in anxiety, stress, depression, individuals struggling with self-esteem, identity, cultural and body health issues as well as relationship discord and trauma. I have conducted individual and couples counseling with traditional and non-traditional relationships. I am very passionate, affirming and thoughtful about working with members from diverse groups including BIPOC clients and folks from the LGBTQ community. Growing up in an immigrant home, I am very familiar with the challenges encountered being raised by immigrant parents. The stigma correlated to mental health, language barriers, clashing values and beliefs which can cause low self-esteem and loss of identity are a few that impact one's wellbeing.
