About My Clients
People who seek my services are often going through life transitions that have brought up unresolved memories of past events and relational traumas. They might wonder why they feel disconnected, anxious, depressed, or feel stuck, and are looking to gain clarity regarding their experiences. Many of my clients have a desire for increased feelings of connection to themselves and more access to feelings of joy.
My Background and Approach
Entering therapy for the first time, or even switching therapists, can feel daunting. I aim to build a space for each client that feels open, where you can feel heard and seen, and where you can bring up any topic to explore. More recent studies acknowledge the importance of creativity for us to learn new patterns, repair old wounds, and for the brain, body, and emotions to connect in a more integrated manner. Because of this, I use a combination of talk therapy, creative arts therapies, parts work, and EMDR, from a relational perspective, to assist clients in bringing about the changes that they desire. I earned my masters in Art Therapy from NYU, trained in couples therapy at the William Alanson White Institute, and am fully trained in EMDR.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and believe in the importance of exploring my own/our own biases to bring about a more equitable, compassionate society. I've worked extensively with all age groups, with individuals and couples (monogamous, poly, and CNM), and with individuals in the queer and TGNC communities. I am also allied with kink, BDSM, and sex work communities.
